The changes to our /my hometown
My home town is a place near Xuzhou（可换）
It used to be a very beautiful place.There were green field and fresh air.However,the area has changed over the years.There are now many new roads,new buildings and a lot more people.
In the past,people could only go to the town by bike or on foot.Things have changed a lot.Now people can take the bus,the taxi or the train,and it is faster and easier to get there.
The environment become better and better.Many old men walked in the park.
We also take action to protect environment.
I love my home town very much.It is very modern.
I live in Xuanhua.The climate here has four distinct seasons.I like Wanliu Park in Xuanhua. Wanliu Park is a natural oxygen bar.Every holiday, I always go for a walk with my parents.The streets of Xuanhua are clean and tidy.Arch pole building, town back building and qingyuan pavilion are in Xuanhua. Welcome to Xuanhua.
我住在宣化，这里的气候四季分明。我喜欢宣化的万柳公园。万柳公园是自然的氧吧。每到放假的时候，我总要和爸爸妈妈去遛弯。宣化的街道干净整洁。宣化有拱极楼，镇溯楼和清远楼。欢迎你来宣化。
My Hometown
My hometown is beautiful place It stands near a wide river at the foot of low green hills.It has many tall buildings and wide streets.There are trees and flowers everywhere.
But it has not always been like that.In the old days,it was a sad dirty little town.Landlords and merchants lived in the few good houses.For the working people there were only dark,unhealthy rooms in old buildings and huts in narrow muddy streets.Nearly everyone was poor and many had no work.
Everything has changed since liberation.The people,led by the Party,have got rid of the mud and dirt.They have put up schools,theaters,shops and flats.They have an assembly hall and a hospital.Along the river they have built offices,hotels and parks.A lot of factories have sprung up.On the river,streamers and boats come and go busily,day and night.They carry the products of our industries to all parts of the country.
I love my hometown,and I love its people.They also have changed.Healthy and happy,they are going all out to build socialism.
Xuanhua District (宣化区), Zhangjiakou, Hebei, China
Xuanhua is an urban district of Zhangjiakou in northwestern Hebei Province, China.
Xuanhua is a very old city with a rich military and agricultural history. Xuanhua was historically the "Gateway to Beijing", which lies 180 km (112 mi) to its southeast. As a city with a large garrison close to the capital, it was strategically vital. It now has a population of 274,000 people. In modern times it has also become an industrial area, and now contains a high-tech development zone where new developments are being promoted by the government of Hebei Province.
Xuanhua is home to a Liao (10th-12th c.) tomb with a colored star atlas painted with 268 stars including the sun, the moon, and the five planets Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn.
In the late 14th century, prior to his elevation to emperor of the Ming Empire, Zhu Di ruled his principality of Yan from Xuanhua. Under the Qing, it continued to serve as the seat of a prefecture and was known to the Jesuit missionaries as "Suen-hao-fou".[1]
In January 2016, the former rural Xuanhua County surrounding the urban Xuanhua merged with the urban Xuanhua District to established Greater Xuanhua District with both rural and urban area combined.
Military[edit]
Xuanhua was the garrison headquarters for the soldiers on the Xuanda-Shanxi Military Area, one of the three military governorships of the Great Wall in the Ming Dynasty. It commanded Xuanfu Zhen, Datong Zhen, and Shanxi Zhen along the Great Wall.
Xuanhua has a set of city walls built in the Ming Dynasty which are still partly intact.
Agriculture[edit]
Known in ancient times as "The Grape Town," Xuanhua farmers grow a wide variety of grapes. Some grapes are used for wine production, but much of the crop is sold as fruit. In autumn, a large number of farmers sell grapes on streetsides out of hand-carts or trucks.
