一个夏天的午后，爱丽丝和姐姐正在一棵大树下乘凉。
One summer afternoon, Alice and her sister were enjoying the cool under a big tree。
突然，一只穿着礼服、拿着怀表的兔子从爱丽丝面前跑了过去。兔子一边跑，一边看着怀表说：“要迟到了，要迟到了！”
Suddenly, a rabbit in a dress and a pocket watch ran past Alice. As the rabbit ran, he looked at his pocket watch and said, "Late, late!"
爱丽丝感到很好奇，连忙起身去追那只奇怪的兔子。
Curious, Alice got up to chase the strange rabbit。
爱丽丝跟着兔子钻进了一个树洞里。在树洞里的一张桌子上，爱丽丝看到了一个瓶子。瓶子上贴着一张“喝我”的标签。
Alice followed the rabbit into a hole in the tree. On a table in the tree hole, Alice saw a bottle. There is a label "Drink Me" on the bottle。
于是，爱丽丝把瓶子里的东西喝了下去。令人惊讶的是，她开始越变越小。
So Alice drank down the bottle. Surprisingly, she began to get smaller and smaller。
变小的爱丽丝在桌底发现了一块蛋糕，她又吃了下去。
The smaller Alice found a cake under the table, and she ate it again。
吃完蛋糕后，爱丽丝竟然慢慢变大！她吓得哭了起来，巨大的泪珠不停地往下掉。不一会儿，地面就成了一个池塘。
After eating the cake, Alice slowly grew bigger! She cried in horror, and huge tears kept falling. Soon the ground became a pond。
这时，那只奇怪的兔子又出现了。他看到爱丽丝，吓得扔下手中的扇子跑了。
Then the strange rabbit appeared again. When he saw Alice, he threw down his fan and ran away。
爱丽丝捡起扇子扇了两下，没想到，她又开始变小，而且越变越小，最后居然掉进了眼泪池塘里。
Alice picked up the fan and fanned it twice. Unexpectedly, she began to get smaller and smaller again. Finally, she fell into the tear pond。
爱丽丝在池塘里遇到了许多小动物，他们一起游到了岸边。
Alice met many small animals in the pond. They swam to the shore together。
这时，那只兔子又出现了。他说：“爱丽丝，去我家把我的手套拿来！”
Then the rabbit appeared again. He said, "Alice, go to my house and get my gloves!"
爱丽丝跑到兔子家，看到桌上有一瓶水。她好奇地把水喝了下去，没想到她的身子又开始变大，最后大得把房子都撑破了。
Alice ran to the rabbit's house and saw a bottle of water on the table. She drank the water curiously, but she didn't realize that her body began to grow bigger again, and eventually the house was so big that it burst。
“天哪！看你做的好事！”兔子气坏了，一边大叫，一边让动物们往爱丽丝身上丢石头。
"Good heavens! Look at what you've done!" The rabbit was so angry that he shouted and asked the animals to throw stones at Alice。
奇怪的是，石头砸到爱丽丝身上，竟然变成了蛋糕。
Strangely, the stone hit Alice and turned into a cake。
爱丽丝捡起蛋糕吃了下去，没想到，她的身体又奇迹般地变小了。于是，她赶紧溜出房子，向森林跑去。
Alice picked up the cake and ate it. Unexpectedly, her body was miraculously smaller. So she quickly slipped out of the house and ran to the forest。
在森林里，爱丽丝遇到了一只毛毛虫。
In the forest, Alice met a caterpillar。
“您好，毛毛虫先生！请问您知道我怎样才能变回原来的样子吗？”爱丽丝问。
"Hello, Mr. Caterpillar! Do you know how I can get back to where I was? Alice asked。
“吃蘑菇的这边就变大，吃那边就变小。”毛毛虫说。
"This side of eating mushrooms gets bigger, and the other side gets smaller." The caterpillar said。
爱丽丝试着咬了好几口蘑菇，终于变回了原来的样子。
Alice tried to bite several mouthfuls of mushrooms and finally returned to her original appearance。
爱丽丝摘下那朵蘑菇继续走。突然，她发现了一扇小门。
Alice took off the mushroom and went on. Suddenly, she found a small door。
爱丽丝咬了一口蘑菇让自己变小，然后走了进去。
Alice took a bite of the mushroom to make herself smaller and went in。
这时，她看到里面有几张长着头和四肢的奇怪的扑克牌。他们正忙着把白玫瑰涂成红色。
Then she saw some strange cards with heads and limbs. They are busy painting white roses red。
“嗯？他们这是在干什么？”爱丽丝感到很惊讶。
"Well? What are they doing? Alice was surprised。
这时，红心王后来了。“怎么还有白色的玫瑰？”她大声吼道，“把他们的头全部给我砍掉！”
At this time, the King of Hearts came later. "How come there are white roses?" She shouted, "Cut off all their heads for me!"
“你不可以这样对他们！”爱丽丝不满地说。
"You can't do that to them!" Alice said discontentedly。
“你是谁？”红心王后说，“来人，把她带走！我要让她陪我玩槌球游戏！”
"Who are you?" The Queen of Hearts said, "Come on, take her away! I want her to play croquet with me!"
爱丽丝被带到了一个花园里。
Alice was taken to a garden。
花园里有很多扑克牌士兵，他们用火烈鸟当球棍，把刺猬当球，不停地打来打去。原来这就是槌球游戏！
There are many poker soldiers in the garden. They use flamingos as bats, hedgehogs as balls, and they keep beating around. So this is croquet!
“哼，我才不玩这么愚蠢的游戏！”爱丽丝扭头说。
"Well, I'm not playing such a silly game!" Alice turned her head and said。
红心王后听了很生气，命令士兵把爱丽丝带上法庭。
The Queen of Hearts was very angry and ordered the soldiers to bring Alice to court。
“爱丽丝没有参加游戏，我宣判她有罪！”红心王后说。
"Alice didn't play the game. I convicted her!" Said the Queen of Hearts。
“拿刺猬当球，这太愚蠢了！”爱丽丝叫道。
"It's foolish to use hedgehogs as balls!" Cried Alice。
“砍掉她的头！”红心王后气坏了。
"Cut off her head!" The Queen of Hearts was angry。
这时，爱丽丝发现自己竟然开始变大，渐渐地恢复到了原来的大小。
At that moment, Alice found herself growing bigger and gradually returning to her original size。
突然，空中落下许许多多的纸牌。爱丽丝快被纸牌淹没了。她拼命地挥舞双手，大声叫道：“救命啊——”
Suddenly, a lot of cards fell in the air. Alice is drowning in cards. She waved her hands desperately and cried out, "Help——"
突然，一只手轻轻抚了抚爱丽丝的脸。爱丽丝睁开眼，发现是姐姐。她们还在那棵树下。
Suddenly, one hand caressed Alice's face gently. Alice opened her eyes and found it was her sister. They are still under that tree。
“我做了个梦。我想，我去了仙境！”爱丽丝说。
"I had a dream. I think I went to Wonderland!" Alice said。
这时，不远处的树洞里，一只奇怪的兔子笑了。他穿着礼服，戴着怀表……
At that moment, a strange rabbit laughed in a hole in the tree not far away. He was wearing a dress and pocket watch......

Once upon a time, there was a little girl who lived with her parents in a cottage on the edge of the forest. Her father was a woodcutter. He worked all day long in the forest, chopping down trees with his huge axe.
Right in the middle of the forest was another cottage. It belonged to the little girl's grandmother.
The kind old lady loved her granddaughter very much, and one day decided to make her a present. It was a red cloak with a red hood to match.
The cloak looked so nice that the little girl wore it all the time. And that is why everybody called her Red Riding Hood.
One day Grandmother fell ill, so Red Riding Hood's mother baked her a cake and made her some fresh butter, just to make her feel better.
"Red Riding Hood," called her mother. "Take this cake and butter to Grandmother's cottage, a visit from you will cheer her up!"
So Red Riding Hood picked up the basket, waved goodbye to her mother and went off down the path.
She hadn't gone very far when she met a wolf. He trotted up, pretending to be friendly. "Good morning, Red Riding Hood. What have you got in your basket today?"
"I have some fresh butter and a cake," replied the little girl. "They are for my grandmother, who lives in the middle of the forest. She is ill and needs cheering up."
The wolf licked his lips. "How I would love to gobble up this little girl. But is I am clever, I can eat her grandmother as well," he sniggered.
"Red Riding Hood," said the wolf slyly. "We will both go to visit your grandmother and cheer her up. I'll race you there!"
Then the clever wolf said to Red Riding Hood, "You follow this path and I will find another one. Then we'll see who reaches Grandmother's cottage first."
No sooner was Red Riding Hood out of sight, than the wolf ran off at top speed.
As for Red Riding Hood, she wandered slowly along the path picking flowers and wild strawberries for her grandmother. She had forgotten all about the race.
The wicked wolf knew every secret path and short cut in the forest. He ran so fast, the animals and birds didn't even notice him.
Quietly he crept round a clearing in the trees where the woodcutter was chopping wood. On and on he raced until he came to the middle of the forest.
The wolf reached Grandmother's cottage in next to no time. He ran up the path and knocked on the door.
"Who is that?" cried Grandmother from her bed.
"It is Red Riding Hood," replied the wolf, in his softest voice.
"Lift the latch and come right in," the old lady called, "the door isn't locked, my dear."
The wolf bounded in and gobbled poor Grandmother whole!
"That was delicious," sighed the wicked wolf, smacking his lips. "Now for Red Riding Hood!"
The wolf looked around the bedroom. He found one of Grandmother's spare nightdresses and her nightcap, so he put them on as fast as he could.
Then the wolf jumped into bed and waited for Red Riding Hood.
At last the little girl reached the cottage door and tapped very gently. "Who it it?" asked the wolf, trying to sound like Grandmother.
"It's Red Riding Hood and I've bought you some cake and fresh butter."
The wolf grinned. "Lift the latch and walk right in," he croaked. So Red Riding Hood opened the door and came inside.
"You sound very strange," called Red Riding Hood.
"I have a cold my dear!" the wolf replied. "Come here so that I can see you."
Little Red Riding Hood was shocked when she saw her grandmother. "Why Grandmother, what strong arms you have!" she said.
"All the better to hug you with!" replied the wolf.
"Why Grandmother, what big eyes you have!" said Red Riding Hood staring at him.
"All the better to see you with!" the wolf grinned.
"Why Grandmother, what big teeth you have!"
"All the better to EAT you with!" snarled the wolf.
And with that, he threw back the bedclothes and leapt out of bed. Poor Red Riding Hood screamed at the top of her voice as the wolf tried to grab her and gobble her up. She escaped from the bedroom and dashed out of the house, the hungry wolf close behind!
Now Red Riding Hood's father was chopping wood nearby and he heard the little girl's screams.
He grabbed his huge axe and ran towards the cottage. He saw the wolf chasing Red Riding Hood and guessed what had happened. The brave woodcutter raised his axe and chopped the wolf in two with one blow. The wolf fell dead and Red Riding Hood was saved.
The frightened little girl ran to her father and kissed and hugged him.
But what a surprise they got when they turned round ... there stood Grandmother safe and sound! Because the woodcutter had chopped the wolf in two, Grandmother was able to climb out quite unharmed.
So all three went back inside the cottage. They unpacked the basket Red Riding Hood had brought and ate the delicious cake.
Little Red Riding Hood never again went walking in Th. forest alone, and Grandmother took great care to lock her cottage door.
1 掉进兔子洞
Alice was beginning to get very tired of sitting by her sister on the bank, and of having nothingto do: once or twice she had peeped into the book her sister was reading, but it had no pictures orconversations in it, `and what is the use of a book,' thought Alice `without pictures or conversation?'
爱丽丝靠着姐姐坐在河岸边很久了，由于没有什么事情可做，她开始感到厌倦，她一次又—次地瞧瞧姐姐正在读的那本书，可是书里没有图画，也没有对话，爱丽丝想：“要是一本书里没有图画和对话，那还有什么意思呢？”
So she was considering in her own mind (as well as she could, for the hot day made her feel verysleepy and stupid), whether the pleasure of making a daisy-chain would be worth the trouble ofgetting up and picking the daisies, when suddenly a white rabbit with pink eyes ran close by her.
天热得她非常困，甚至迷糊了，但是爱丽丝还是认真地盘算着，做一只雏菊花环的乐趣，能不能抵得上摘雏菊的麻烦呢？就在这时，突然一只粉红眼睛的白兔，贴着她身边跑过去了。
There was nothing so very remarkable in that; nor did Alice think it so very much out of the wayto hear the rabbit say to itself, `Oh dear! Oh dear! I shall be late!' (when she thought it overafterwards, it occurred to her that she ought to have wondered at this, but at the time it all seemedquite natural); but when the rabbit actually took a watch out of its waistcoat-pocket, and looked at it,and then hurried on, Alice started to her feet, for it flashed across her mind that she had never beforeseen a rabbit with either a waistcoat-pocket, or a watch to take out of it, and burning with curiosity,she ran across the field after it, and fortunately was just in time to see it pop down a large rabbit-hole under the hedge.

In another moment down went Alice after it, never once considering how in the world she was toget out again.

The rabbit-hole went straight on like a tunnel for some way, and then dipped suddenly down, sosuddenly that Alice had not a moment to think about stopping herself before she found herselffalling down a very deep well.

Either the well was very deep, or she fell very slowly, for she had plenty of time as she went downto look about her and to wonder what was going to happen next. First, she tried to look down andmake out what she was coming to, but it was too dark to see anything; then she looked at the sidesof the well, and noticed that they were filled with cupboards and book-shelves; here and there shesaw maps and pictures hung upon pegs. She took down a jar from one of the shelves as she passed;it was labelled `ORANGE MARMALADE', but to her great disappointment it was empty: she did notlike to drop the jar for fear of killing somebody, so managed to put it into one of the cupboards asshe fell past it.

`Well!' thought Alice to herself, `after such a fall as this, I shall think nothing of tumbling downstairs! How brave they'll all think me at home! Why, I wouldn't say anything about it, even if I fell offthe top of the house!' (which was very likely true.)

Let me see:that would be four thousand miles down, I think--' (for, you see, Alice had learnt several things ofthis sort in her lessons in the schoolroom, and though this was not a VERY good opportunity forshowing off her knowledge, as there was no one to listen to her, still it was good practice to say itover) `--yes, that's about the right distance--but then I wonder what Latitude or Longitude I've gotto?' (Alice had no idea what Latitude was, or Longitude either, but thought they were nice grandwords to say.)

Presently she began again. `I wonder if I shall fall right through the earth! How funny it'll seem tocome out among the people that walk with their heads downward! The Antipathies, I think--' (shewas rather glad there WAS no one listening, thistime, as it didn't sound at all the right word) `--but Ishall have to ask them what the name of the country is, you know. Please, Ma'am, is this NewZealand or Australia?' (and she tried to curtsey as she spoke--fancy curtseying as you're fallingthrough the air! Do you think you could manage it?) `And what an ignorant little girl she'll think mefor asking! No, it'll never do to ask: perhaps I shall see it written up somewhere.'

Down, down, down. There was nothing else to do, so Alice soon began talking again. `Dinah'llmiss me very much to-night, I should think!' (Dinah was the cat.) `I hope they'll remember her saucerof milk at tea-time. Dinah my dear! I wish you were down here with me! There are no mice in the air,I'm afraid, but you might catch a bat, and that's very like a mouse, you know. But do cats eat bats, Iwonder?' And here Alice began to get rather sleepy, and went on saying to herself, in a dreamy sortof way, `Do cats eat bats? Do cats eat bats?' and sometimes, `Do bats eat cats?' for, you see, as shecouldn't answer either question, it didn't much matter which way she put it. She felt that she wasdozing off, and had just begun to dream that she was walking hand in hand with Dinah, and sayingto her very earnestly, `Now, Dinah, tell me the truth: did you ever eat a bat?' when suddenly, thump!thump! down she came upon a heap of sticks and dry leaves, and the fall was over.

Alice was not a bit hurt, and she jumped up on to her feet in a moment: she looked up, but itwas all dark overhead; before her was another long passage, and the White Rabbit was still in sight,hurrying down it. There was not a moment to be lost: away went Alice like the wind, and was just intime to hear it say, as it turned a corner, `Oh my ears and whiskers, how late it's getting!' She wasclose behind it when she turned the corner, but the Rabbit was no longer to be seen: she foundherself in a long, low hall, which was lit up by a row of lamps hanging from the roof.

There were doors all round the hall, but they were all locked; and when Alice had been all theway down one side and up the other, trying every door, she walked sadly down the middle,wondering how she was ever to get out again.
大厅四周都是门，全都锁着，爱丽丝从这边走到那边，推一推，拉一拉，每扇门都打不开，她伤心地走到大厅中间，琢磨着该怎么出去。
Suddenly she came upon a little three-legged table, all made of solid glass; there was nothingon it except a tiny golden key, and Alice's first thought was that it might belong to one of the doorsof the hall; but, alas! either the locks were too large, or the key was too small, but at any rate it wouldnot open any of them. However, on the second time round, she came upon a low curtain she had notnoticed before, and behind it was a little door about fifteen inches high: she tried the little goldenkey in the lock, and to her great delight it fitted!

Alice opened the door and found that it led into a small passage, not much larger than a rat-hole: she knelt down and looked along the passage into the loveliest garden you ever saw. How shelonged to get out of that dark hall, and wander about among those beds of bright flowers and thosecool fountains, but she could not even get her head though the doorway; `and even if my headwould go through,' thought poor Alice, `it would be of very little use without my shoulders. Oh, how Iwish I could shut up like a telescope! I think I could, if I only know how to begin.' For, you see, somany out-of-the-way things had happened lately, that Alice had begun to think that very few thingsindeed were really impossible.There seemed to be no use in waiting by the little door, so she wentback to the table, half hoping she might find another key on it, or at any rate a book of rules forshutting people up like telescopes: this time she found a little bottle on it, (`which certainly was nothere before,' said Alice,) and round the neck of the bottle was a paper label, with the words `DRINKME' beautifully printed on it in large letters.
